Dare to Dream

Don't you wish you could control your dreams? If I could stick an electronic chip into my brain to prohibit me from dreaming of various things, I would do it in an instant. Plenty of times I have had reoccurring dreams, especially as a teenager. A few weeks ago, I dreamed the same dream as I did a few days prior, but this time I knew it was a dream and was able to control it. The brain is so magnificent.

What about dreams about people? Do you ever have the same individuals pop in and out of your dreams? How often do you dream about any one specific person? It could be your spouse, a friend, a sibling, your ex? I'd say, embarrassingly enough, that my ex makes an appearance in my dreams at least twice a week. We haven't spoken in many months, and we live hours away with no mutual friends, so the occasional run in never occurs.

I asked other friends how often they dream about exes. Of course the men say never and the women all agreed that it depended on the day's events. I remember one time I had an awesome dream about Macgyver trying to rescue me from a kidnapper and couldn't for the life of me figure out why?

Controlling dreams would be nice, but kind of letting them work themselves out once in a while is pretty neat as well. They make for good stories at least. The best part? When they feel as if it were real... priceless.

  1. I've never had a lucid dream. It would be cool because then I would tell myself to fly!

  2. It was pretty sweet. I saved my sister from dying in that dream because I knew it was going to happen. Way weird.
