In the past seven days, I have had five friends purchase a home. It's amazing how it truly is a buyers market out there! These houses (a majority of which were short sales/ foreclosures) are definitely the most bang for the buck. It breaks my heart to think about the families that have been removed from the homes, or the hard times they had to have gone through to lose their home. To me, putting a decal on a wall signifies a permanent place to call my own; to others buying huge gigantic houses is more their style.
I know I've become an adult when I replace reality TV from VHI and MTV to reality TV from Lifetime and HGTV :)
One day I will have a happy, cozy, loving home with one of those "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord" signs hanging somewhere. A house that I get to fix up and re-decorate with my partner in life. As for now, I'm very happy with my basement apartment that sometimes has ants... hey, I have a hot tub, I can live with ants.
I was once a home owner. I was one of those short-sellers. Now, I'm more than happy to let someone else worry about the home maintenance. When the salty wind off the Bay rips through nearby trees, I enjoy the sensation rather than worrying about my shingles and windows.
