Virginia Humid

There is nothing like a Virginia humid. The kind that adds ten pounds to my already curvy frame the instant I walk out the door. The Virginia humid that cultivates in early April and disintegrates before the first leaf falls in October. With Virginia humid, every night light along the highway glows in the phantom mist. The heat lightening dances across the sky as the fireflies make their debut at sunset. The Virginia humid puts on a show, the evening showers demand a round of applause. The echo from the crickets resonates through my body, a thick murky melody. The Virginia humid air tastes sweet like a sliver from a sugar cane on some Caribbean island. You can smell the grass grow in this Virginia humid, the rapid pace of which it grows is astounding. It warms my soul and welcomes me home in its hot, sticky embrace. The Virginia humid is a piece of my soul, it is in my blood and will forever be me.
